Why visit
The Acantilados de Los Gigantes rise almost vertically from the Atlantic and dominate every view in town. Los Gigantes never became a mega-resort: it's built on a hillside of white villas, has one marina, a handful of beaches and a genuinely local rhythm. La Gomera floats on the horizon and the sun sets over open water every evening.
What to do
Walk the marina, swim at Playa de Los Guíos under the cliffs, take a whale-watching boat (resident pilot whales live offshore year-round), swim in the El Laguillo seawater pools, and have sunset drinks above the harbour. Masca and Teide are both within an easy drive.
