Why wintering works here
The microclimate is medicine: dry warmth easing joints, sea-level oxygen, daily gentle distance on the promenade with coffee-stop infrastructure. A genuine town (bank, market, doctors) — not a resort that closes — with a wintering community that returns each year like migratory sensible birds. Many of our own regulars are exactly this.
Practical assurance
The lift removes stairs; the bathroom's walk-in shower removes tub-climbing (grab-rail status: ask — we fit needs where we can). Pharmacies handle prescription continuity; private clinics southward take European insurances smoothly. Buses reach everything; taxis cost little; hosts translate anything. Slow Tenerife is the best Tenerife anyway.
- January–March books earliest — the wintering flock is loyal.
- The 10:00 market-coffee-promenade loop builds instant routine and acquaintances.
- Blood-pressure meds + heat: doctors approve the climate, hydration seals it.
FAQ
Is the town hilly?
Above the coast road, yes — but the seafront kilometre-strip where life happens is genuinely flat. Balance days accordingly.
