Supermarkets & shopping around Los Gigantes

You can self-cater easily: small supermarkets sit within 400 m of the studio, a larger Mercadona and Lidl are a short drive away in Adeje direction, and local fruterías sell Canarian bananas and tomatoes for very little.

Daily basics

Puerto de Santiago's small supermarkets cover bread, coffee, wine, and beach essentials. Prices are a bit above mainland Spain (island logistics) but far below restaurant prices — breakfast on your balcony costs a euro or two.

The smart shop

Do one bigger run at a Mercadona or Lidl if you have a car, then top up locally. Buy fruit at fruterías — Canarian bananas, papayas, avocados — and fish from the morning stalls when available.

FAQ

Is tap water drinkable?

Officially treated and safe, but most residents drink bottled — it tastes better. A 6-pack of 1.5 L bottles is inexpensive.

Where's the nearest pharmacy?

In the town centre, a few minutes' walk — ask us for the current nearest on-duty (farmacia de guardia).
