Days that work
Morning at Playa de la Arena (lifeguards, gentle shelf), lunch back home, siesta, then the promenade with an ice cream while the sun sets. The whale boats are the single best child activity on the coast — sightings of resident pilot whales are near-certain in normal conditions.
Bigger outings
Siam Park (waterpark, ~25 min) for older kids, Loro Parque (~50 min) for animals, the camel park near Adeje, and easy lava-landscape walks in Teide National Park that feel like another planet.
- Black sand gets hot — sandals for little feet.
- Spanish pharmacies are excellent for any kids' needs.
- Restaurants welcome children late — high chairs exist but ask ahead.
