Playa de Santiago — the beach below the studio

Playa de Santiago is the little black-sand and pebble bay 400 m from Gigantes View Studio — the closest place for a morning swim, with a natural harbour feel and far fewer visitors than the resort beaches.

The local's beach

This is where Puerto de Santiago residents swim before work. The bay is framed by lava rock, the water is clear and there's a small quay where kids jump in the afternoon. Sunsets from the little promenade above are the ones you'll see from the studio balcony.

When to go

Mornings are glass-calm most of the year. On days with north-west swell the bay catches waves — locals then walk 10 minutes to the more sheltered Playa de la Arena instead.

FAQ

Can I swim there year-round?

Yes — sea temperature ranges roughly 19–23 °C through the year.

Are there sunbeds?

No — it's a natural local beach. Playa de la Arena (1 km) has full services.
