Tenerife South — using the resorts without staying in them

The southern strip (Los Cristianos–Costa Adeje) is the island's engine room: biggest beaches, Siam Park, shopping, nightlife and the ferry port — all 25–35 minutes from the studio. Perfect for day raids; blissful to leave behind at night.

Worth the drive

Siam Park earns its 'world's best waterpark' rankings. Playa del Duque is the manicured-golden-sand experience with sunbeds and cocktails. La Caleta keeps real fish restaurants at the strip's quiet end. Los Cristianos' old core still functions as an actual town around the ferry harbour.

Using it from the west

Go for a purpose — park day, shopping (Siam Mall), a show, the La Gomera ferry — then retreat. Weekday mornings dodge the worst traffic on the TF-1. Returning over the Adeje hills at dusk, the west coast opens below you and you'll be glad you sleep on this side.

FAQ

Is the south 'the real Tenerife'?

It's real tourism economy — impressive at what it does. The island's soul lives elsewhere; visit, enjoy, return west.

Best southern beach for a day?

El Duque for comfort, La Tejita (further east, wild, golden) for space and kite-surf views.
